Real Estate (2012)
Lemonem redux: Childish Gambino feat. Tina Fey, Alley Boy & Swank, "Real Estate" [2012, Royalty mixtape]. Childish Gambino's Royalty mixtape is one of those superfresh Hip Hop projects that includes unexpected but logically sound moments: a couple of tracks featuring Beck ("Bronchitis" and "Silk Pillow), who has always been into Hip Hop; one of the highlights, "American Royalty," which features RZA and a Chicago brass band named the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble; and then there's Tina "Lemonem" Fey's verse at the end of "Real Estate," which begins around 4:59. Fey is hilarious! And if you're wondering how she wound up being involved in this project, there is a 30 Rock connection since Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) and Fey worked together as writers for 30 Rock. Ludwig Göransson, who also worked as a composer for Community (which Glover starred in), also produced music for at least three Childish Gambino projects, including the Royalty mixtape. Lemonem aka Tina Fey's verse from "Real Estate": "Yeah we in here, we in this thing Gambino is forever, royalty is forever We ballin' till we fuckin up the hardwood homey This the life we live, son My president is black and my Prius is blue, motherfucker Royalty all day, we droppin' racks at Nordstrom, son That's racks on racks damn it you feel me? You feel me? This is the part where most people would say something crazy and drop the n-word after it Not going to, I'm not going to do that, I don't feel comfortable! I'm out"
